Dropout Facts

  • Roughly 60,000 students in Georgia did not graduate from high school in 2011.

  • Every 26 seconds, a student drops out of high school in America.

  • The lost lifetime earnings for dropouts in the class of 2011 are $7.8 billion.

  •  If Georgia’s dropouts had graduated, the annual state tax would have increased by $26 billion.

  • The United States death rate for those that do not have a high school education is 2.5 times higher than those that graduated high school.

  •  Only 41% of African American males graduate from high school in the United States.
