The Georgia Department of Education 2012 data that shows that the Atlanta Public School Graduation rate has dropped to 50.87%, down from 51.96 in 2011.
The States press release says that, "The four-year adjusted cohort graduation rate defines the cohort based on when a student first becomes a freshman. The rate is calculated using the number of students who graduate within four years and includes adjustments for student transfers."
Geogia's public high school graduation rate rose more than two percentage points over the previous year – from 67.4 percent in 2011 to 69.7 percent in 2012.
